Hall Day

The 22nd January 2010 the first hall day of the year and what a great day it was. 1 lesson of I.C.T all day with Stuart Ridout. It was a day that everyone had to enjoy. Stuart introduced what we would be doing today at the beginning we were writing a children’s story. when I heard it I was kept thinking that it would be a boring day but I was wrong. The first thing we did was discuss what are story would be about. Me, Ashlieh and Ashley came up with the idea that we would do a story about a boy who would describe what he likes doing and then the child would write what he liked doing every page. So if the boy said I like playing with my dog, we would write a question saying what is your favourite pet. We liked the idea because we thought it would be interactive with the children. When we finished are stories we made 3 posters one for the children, one for the adults and finally one for the library. the posters had to be simple and have bold pictures. We also had to write a press release promoting the book. I think the day was really good and enjoyed it I dont think there should be any improvements next year. Here is my book: my story bird book

1st Term With Netbooks

The 1st term with the netbook has been great we have used it lots of different lessons such as E.H, Science, D.T and Music and P.S.H.E. in science i have looked up facts and i have made power points for lessons. in D.T i learnt about tie dye and other styles in textiles. i use it in the mornings and also in P.S.H.E for websites like connections. It has helped me the most in E.H beacuse my hand writing is not great and teachers can not read my work we use them in most E.H lessons and its has made it a lot easier. My best piece of work is my Titanic piece if i never had the netbook i would not have the mark i got because the typing made it neater. i have also done a lot of reasearch with the netbook like the last survivor of the Titanic and when she died. I hope my spelling will improve with the netbook but we will have to wait for that. The only problem i had been that my mouse was not working i and i had to ask for help. at home my mum uses it with my help she has done online banking on it and my uncle has used it for e-mailing.

At home i have gone on Facebook to interact with friends and family in india and germany. i also used it for homework and even though i can improve my homework i have still handed in more than i have in the past it has been a great thing to have in school because at lunch i do my homework if i forget to the night before.

The netbooks are amazing i am gonna be upset to see them go. its is gonna fell weird not having them in lesson I am gonna miss them a lot. i hope the other class that get them next will enjoy them as much as we did and will appreciate them as well.i have not damaged the netbook and hope to carry on using it till the end when we give them back. i am happy to say that we were the first to use the netbooks and will be honed to be the first as well.
